Well hello there.

My name is Ryan, and aside from getting out of doing any real work on a Monday morning, the aim of this Blog is to provide you with an insight into the daily workings of an IT Consultant at a Cloud computing provider; shedding light on how we operate, the kind of clients we deal with, the IT issues they face, and how we come to develop solutions for these clients…

I’m new to the IT industry and new to this Blogging malarkey, so please bear with me!

About me: well while I’m not technically a technical geek, I’ve always had an interest in all things computing, but my background is sales and consultancy; the opportunity came up for an IT Consultancy position, something I’ve been looking to get into for a while – I interviewed, impressed, and here I am today, hopefully converting all the techno-babble you’ve heard into relevant business speak.  I’ve had a crash course in all things Cloud (Virtualisation, VMware, Backup, Emails etc…) so I’m pretty well versed in it, but constantly learning as well.

I’m into extreme sports, most music, socialising and being an Xbox geek – not a terrible combination I hope :-)

As an IT Consultant here at Quest, it is my role to speak to clients, delve down into their current IT situation and the problems they are facing, then put on my geek-hat and develop, design, and deliver the ideal solution, based on wants and needs, how they use their IT system on a daily basis, bandwidth, and budgets…

It’s a pretty relaxed but hard working office here; I’ll likely update once a week, it will hopefully be funny and informative, with a touch of geek-speak for those that’ll appreciate it.

Naturally we’re looking for 2 way communicate here, so please feel free to comment and ask questions :-)

Cheers
