Boooooom, Deal Done

Thanks for tuning in.  I’m pretty happy this sunny Friday afternoon – another client has signed their agreement, and we can get moving with managing their project!

Not a big company, only about 10 people, they have been struggling with their IT systems for some time now; it’s a pretty common setup that we see – a number of PCs, all standalone, hard to maintain and backup, no shared data-drive etc. – a bit of a nightmare really.  We gave them a call at the right time, went for a meeting to introduce cloud computing and Quest,  fleshed out the details, impressed them, came back to the office and sent off the proposal, and here we are today… they are just a few days away from worry-free, enterprise-level IT, with no capital expenditure.

Our solution – a Virtual Desktop for every user, and a questBufferBox (micro-server) on site to seamlessly integrate printing and scanning.  Pretty simple huh?  But that’s the beauty of Cloud computing… The client doesn’t need to invest in any new hardware, their outdated PCs will access the Virtual Desktops with the same speed as a brand new cutting-edge PC would, because the resources are drawn from the Cloud, rather than from the PC itself – clever, huh?!

The changeover with take hardly any time; the Virtual Desktops are created in advance of the migration date, and their current data will migrate over the Internet to our “Cloud” over the weekend, ready and waiting for them on Monday morning; they’ll go from using an outdated and awkward system to a lightning-fast Cloud system literally overnight.

I know it’s only brief, but I hope it’s given you an insight into how we can take a problem (outdated PCs, no connectivity between them) and create a solution, with no capital spend whatsoever – the client will be paying a transparent, monthly cost for a fully managed superb system that isn’t much more than the support costs they were paying previously.  That’s one happy customer!
