Cloud Computing World Forum 2012

An interesting week here at Quest HQ.  Tuesday morning saw us travelling to London for Day One of the Cloud Computing World Forum, which I’m sure sounds absolutely riveting to those not in the Cloud industry… but for those that are in the industry, it was actually quite interesting.  Got to meet Google and Microsoft, and attend some interesting talks, including a debate with the CIOs of a start-up Bank, Oxfam, and the UK Government, Andy Nelson; the last one being the most eye-opening really, as regarding Cloud security it begs the question; “if “the Cloud” is good enough for the UK Government, surely it’s good enough for your organisation!?”

The CCWF also gave us a chance to have a nose at the competition, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that not only are we keeping up with some of the bigger players, we actually have more innovative solutions than some of them… combine that with the small-company, personal feel we give, and we’re confident that we have a firm position in our market.

In creating my most recent mailshot, I actually went down the more informative route than sales spiel, which led me to some interesting research about the future of the Cloud industry… Did you know that the UK alone is set to spend £43bn on Cloud services by 2016?!  Many more interesting facts in that link as well.

Not too much else to report, aside from a couple more signed and happy clients this week, and several excellent conversations with IT firms that are looking to actively resell our solutions to their new and existing clients.  Onwards and upwards, as they say!

Have a good weekend people.  Feel free to comment etc etc etc…

Thanks,

Ryan and the Quest Cloud Solutions Ltd Team
